GNM - General Nursing & Midwifery

Eligibility

AGE:

  •  Minimum 17 Years (As on or before 31st December)
  • No maximum / Upper Age Limit as per INC Circular – 11/23 dated 21st August 2023.
  • ANM to GNM NO AGE BAR

EDUCATION:

  • Candidates should have passed in HSC Examination (10+2) with English and must have obtained a minimum of 40% at qualifying examination conducted by Maharashtra State Board of Secondary and Higher Secondary Board or Equivalent, with any Stream (Science/Arts/Commerce) preferably Science.
  • 10 +2 with English having 40% of marks in Vocational Stream – Health Care Science (including Medical Laboratory Technician, Radiology Technician, Child Healthcare Services, Old Age Health Care Services, Ophthalmic Technicians) from a recognized CBSC board/ Centre.
  • Candidates are also eligible from state open school recognized by State Government and National Institute of Open School (NIOS) recognized by Central Government.
  • ANM Pass.

RESERVATIONS:

  • It is mandatory to follow Indian Constitution Act for Reservation.
  • For Disabled Candidates 5% Disability reservation is considered, with disability of locomotors with the tune of 40% to 50% of the lower extremities as per certified by Competent government authority.
  • For Orphan candidates with 1% reservation (Competent authority certificate is must)
  • 5% Relaxation for Reserved Category.

 

OTHER CRITERIA:

  • Students shall be Medically Fit.
  • Maharashtra State Domicile Certificate is Mandatory.

Focus

The GNM program provides comprehensive training in nursing care across various healthcare settings. Students will learn about midwifery, mental health nursing, medical-surgical nursing, and more. GNM graduates are prepared to deliver high-quality nursing care and take on leadership roles in healthcare teams. 

  • This Diploma Nursing course comprises of 3 years duration which includes Midwifery. 
  • Examination is taken at the end of each year for internship after which the students are eligible to get registration from Maharashtra Nursing Council, Mumbai. 
  • The course is permitted by the Maharashtra Government, Maharashtra State Board of 
  • Nursing & Paramedical Education, Mumbai & Maharashtra Nursing Council, & Indian Nursing Council, New Delhi.
